The Department of civil engineering (CE) was established in the year 2002 with the aim of producing professionals in civil engineering with highest technical expertise in Tamil Nadu and in the Nation. The Department has well furnished Laboratories equipped with the latest technology equipments and testing machines. In the laboratories sufficient number of computers have been installed and updated regularly with various software packages. The Department has highly qualified and dedicated academic faculty members.

The department organizes national level Technical symposium/National conference/ workshop/ FDP programmers to promote closer interaction between academic and research scholars. Our faculty and students are very enthusiastic in doing research and development works.

Vision

To produce professional Civil Engineers with social responsibilities, environmental awareness, quest for energy sustainability, research expertise and entrepreneurship skills and to build young Technocrats by imparting technical knowledge in the field of civil Engineering, and there by laying the foundation for the future engineers to make significant contribution to the economic development of the nation. To produce competent professionals by training them for entry level positions in civil engineering.

Mission

The Mission of the Department of Civil Engineering is to produce competent professionals by training them for entry level positions in Civil Engineering. The Department of Civil Engineering is proud of its public service mandate to educate students of Tamil Nadu and Nation, by helping in the intellectual growth of our students so that they may become productive citizens in the service of humanity. The department is dedicated to providing a dynamic learning environment that includes open-ended design, problem solving skills, team work, and communication and leadership skills.
